Wow has the fishing been great! Between kohos and rainbows and walleye and bluegills, we have been nailing the fish! The fishing out of Sheboygan has been the greatest we've seen all year!! We have been getting limits almost every time we go out. It's incredible! The walleye have been biting as well up in the bay! The weather is finally warming up and getting to be officially summer! It's been a great start to the season and we hope the fish stay to make it get better and better!
Well it's that time of year again, our favorite time of year!!! Boats are going in the water, turkey tags are getting filled, and the fishing is outstanding!!! Walleyes on the bay of Green Bay have been on a hot bite both jigging vibration baits and trolling cranks. The brown trout bite has been good as well trolling lead core with spoons and flat line crank baits. The turkeys have been responding to the call well and with 6 birds on the ground for us this year it has been very successful! The avian-x quarter strut Jake and a hen has given us the best success.
With the weather being so nice, we got the chance to take the boat out of storage!
We are ready for the season and we hope you join us!
Jerrad Kalmerton talks tackle after the AIM WWS tournament on Green Bay. He explains how he is using Echotails while casting and jigging to put fish in the boat. Jerrad and partner Tony Barber finished this tournament in 9th place. The week before, Jerrad took 2nd place at the MWC on Little Sturgeon Bay.
Wolf Pack Adventures' very own Jerrad Kalmerton and partner Brett Koenig took second place honors at the Cabela's Masters Walleye Circuit tournament event in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, May 8-9, 2015.
They weighed 39.00 pounds on Day 1 which put them in second place. Watch this video as Jerrad prepares to head out on the morning of Day 2 looking for another big bag.
With the 2015 Wisconsin opener coming this weekend, the walleye fishing has been nothing short of fantastic! Captains Jerrad Kalmerton and Tyler Chisholm have been hitting some hot action on both the Winnebago and Green Bay systems. Trolling and casting crankbaits, and jigging plastics, have been very productive ways to catch fish. Some true trophy walleye fishing is upon us these next weeks. Now is a great time to catch the fish of a lifetime, and add a few to the freezer as well.
Walleyes have started their spawning as water temps are just getting to their low end spawning temperatures. The males are abundant and it won't be long before even more females will be caught.
With the ice melting off of lakes and rivers, the walleyes have started to make their move into spawn. Fishing the rivers gives you great access to open water this early in the year - and a great pre-spawn walleye bite!
After the last warm spell we have had, the ice has been making good day and night offering some fantastic opportunities for all anglers. The lack of snow is not hindering mobility whatsoever and it is easy to get to excellent bites for all species.
